Comedone Extractor

A comedone extractor, also known as a blackhead remover, is a great tool to help fight annoying blackheads and whiteheads.

A comedone extractor is usually used by a dermatologist but a lot of people like to use a more “do-it-yourself” approach. It’s nice because you only have to pay one time, and you’ve got the tools for life. No need to keep going to the dermatologist and paying for every single visit.

This blackhead tool isn’t hard to use at all. As long as you can follow simple directions you can easily get the job done in the comfort of your own home.

Of course you’ll want to follow all the directions that come with your product, but the basic process goes as follows:

  1. Steam your face or take a hot shower to open up your pores.
  2. Wash your hands and sanitize the comedone extractor with some rubbing alcohol.
  3. Center the blemish inside the loop of the blackhead remover and press on it until all the junk comes out.
  4. After you’re all done, wipe down the tool with alcohol again and also apply some rubbing alcohol or a nice antiseptic cream (like the one made by Derma E) to your face to avoid any infections.

That wasn’t too complicated, now was it? That’s just a broad overview so just be sure to be careful and follow directions closely when using a comedone extractor.

You can either go with a straight-up blackhead extractor tool that’s mainly intended for blackheads, or you can get one with a lancet to help drain whiteheads as well. The product above is one such blackhead extractor tool and whitehead lancet combo.

Extractor Blemish Removal Product

There are countless blemish removal products on the market right now. Everything from comedone extractors to creams and facials to electronic heat-generating instruments that fry the blemishes from the inside out. That last one seems to be the craziest of the blemish removal products out there. I haven’t tried it personally but it sounds like a neat idea. I’d like to see how well it works.

The Tweezerman blackhead blemish extractor gets some great reviews. I think the few bad reviews are from people that didn’t really know how to use the tool.

Comedone Extractor Reviews

One of the best places I know of to get product reviews by real people, is Amazon.com. So if you’re looking for some good comedone extractor reviews, I’d start there.

Like I said, these are real people who have bought and used the product so it’s not just some lame website giving their own biased opinion. Any of the images of comedone extractors on this site will link you right to amazon and show you that product. So go ahead, follow any of the links to see some good comedone extractor reviews.

Blemish Extractor

A lot of people are these days. Acne has become such a big problem that people are constantly looking for the next greatest thing to get rid of it.

The blemish extractor (comedone extractor) is a nice, quick option to help get rid of  blackheads and pimples. It’s an alternative to waiting weeks to see a reduction in the size of blemishes or number of blackheads, like you would with creams. In a few minutes you can remove zits and extract blackheads.

It’s not a miracle cure and won’t completely erase your blemishes, but a blemish extractor will jump-start the process so your face wash doesn’t have to work so hard.

Vacuum Blackhead Remover

A less popular alternative to the fine loop or double spoon comedone extractors, is the vacuum blackhead remover.

It works just as you’d imaging it would. It has a little suction cup on it that you slide over the areas of your skin that have blackheads. Then the vacuum blackhead remover literally sucks out all of the old puss and oils that are clogging your pores.

I’ve heard mixed reviews about this item. I think I’ll stick with the manual process but if you’re looking for something new to try, then there’s a chance this blackhead removal tool will be the right tool for you.

Revlon Blackhead Remover

A popular brand you have undoubtedly heard of is also making their own comedone extractor. The Revlon blackhead remover is a very inexpensive tool made by, you guessed it, Revlon.

These guys don’t just make makeup. They’re all over the place now. I’ve seen Revlon hair color, hairdryers, as well as the Revlon blackhead remover. I guess every company has to branch out after a while or business will slow down.

This particular model is of the fine loop blackhead remover variety. A small loop on one end for blackheads and a larger loop on the opposite end for bigger whiteheads. It’s stainless steel and Revlon backs it with a lifetime warranty.

Zits that pop-up unexpectedly can be a real pain. Especially if you’re about to go out and have some fun or meet someone for the first time. You should always have an emergency back-up plan for those types of situations.

The quickest option I know of to reduce the appearance of pimples and blackheads would be a good acne remover tool. You can drain out all that puss and bacteria in just a few seconds, if done after you get out of the shower. Your pores will be opened up from the steam. It won’t get rid of acne completely but it will make zits less apparent quickly.
